Would you kindly help me with a quick question:

    I know that ána saddáʔtak= 1 believed you (m)

How would I say “I DID NOT believe you”– Would it be ána ma-saddáʔtakiš

How would I say “I WILL believe you” –Would it be ána hasáddaʔak

How would I say “I WILL NOT believe you”– Would it be ána mis-hasáddaʔak

Hi Mumbi! All your sentences seem correct to me. I would simply have omitted the i in ána ma-saddáʔtakiš

    أتمنى لك يوماً سعيداً

    Hello @Mumbi

Nice to see your contribution on the Egyptian Arabic forum.

Yes, all your sentences are correct. Let me write it in Arabic as well :

أنا صدقتك _ I believed you

    أنا مصدقتكش _ I didn’t believe you

أنا هصدقك _ I will believe you

أنا مش هصدقك _ I won’t believe you

    Good job indeed Heart Eyes

How would I say “I DID NOT believe you”– Would it be ána ma-saddáʔtakiš

So one of the things I struggle with is whether, for instance, this helping vowel at the end is right in ma-saddáʔtak*i*š. Why isn’t it ma-saddáʔtakš

Because I thought that the general rule is that is that it’s need to avoid sequences of three consonants. Eg dafa3t going to madafa3tiš (because we can’t have 3tš) , or indeed saddaʔt going to madsaddaʔtiš (because we can’t have ʔtiš).

So I’m not saying the helping vowel is wrong. But could somebody perhaps try to help me understand why it isn’t?
