This is an excellent book that thoroughly covers vocabulary for a novice to the proficient and then some.

My favorite of the books I found on the site. 🙂 Slightly more than a dictionary, which is perfect for me. 🙂

I bought this on Amazon. I am really impressed. This is a very comprehensive book. It has essential vocabulary for so many topics and situations. This is what so many other books fail to do. This is such a good handbook. And it has audio for all the words and expressions. There must have been so much work put into this!

Just a suggestion: It would be great if there will be another book with dialogues, discussions for each topic.

Thank you, Adel! We’re actually putting out two-book series (very soon!) called Kalaam Kull Yoom: Situational Egyptian Arabic with lots of dialogues and additional vocabulary and expressions.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I study Arabic (fusha and masri) and I missed resources for useful vocabulary in masri that my university course was missing. There was one thing concerning the verbs that was unclear to me (the code between brackets), but when I emailed about it I got a very quick response. I feel like this is a book I will be using for a long time, since it covers so much vocabulary that you will probably still find new words along the way.

This is easily the best vocabulary book of Egyptian Arabic that there’s out there for beginners and intermediate students. And I have been looking quite extensively. The mp3 files are a perfect complement, as is the fact that the verb forms refer back to the Conjugation Tables (which is another admirable book). This is a reference book that can stay with you for a long, long time. I’m hoping now for a full grammar book, which would be an amazing complement 🙂
