Learn on the go!
When you’re studying from a book, you need to have your eyes on the page, and this limits the amount of time you have for language learning. The Kamaan Shuwayya ‘An Nafsi Premium Audio solves this problem by allowing you to use your time more efficiently throughout the day when you can’t be sitting down with the book. You just listen and learn while you go about your day!
What is Premium Audio?
Unlike the free accompanying MP3 tracks for the book Kamaan Shuwayya ‘An Nafsi, which only contain Arabic audio, the Premium Audio also has English translations. The audio is also divided into individual tracks (MP3 files) for each question or response. This way, you can easily replay sentences or only study the ones you choose.
Each track presents a question or response from the book 1) the original audio at regular speed 2) followed by its English translation 3) studio-quality audio spoken at a slower speed followed by a comfortable pause to allow you time to repeat the word or expression, 4) and finally the original audio again.
Let’s take a look at the structure of a Premium Audio track.
- Chime: A gentle chime marks the beginning of each audio track and is followed by a 1-second pause/silence.
- Arabic: The Arabic question or response is spoken at normal speed followed by a 2-second pause/silence to give you time to think about the meaning of the Arabic.
- English: The translation allows you to check your comprehension and is followed by a 2-second pause/silence.
- Arabic: Professional voice artists repeat the sentences slowly to help you hear the sounds more clearly. A long pause/silence follows so that you can mimic and repeat what you just heard.
- Arabic: The sentence is repeated again at normal speed to check improved listening comprehension.
How to Use the Kamaan Shuwayya ‘An Nafsi Premium Audio
The Premium Audio is best used as a supplementary tool to the book Kamaan Shuwayya ‘An Nafsi. That is, it is best to also have the PDF eBook or paperback book so that you can prestudy the materials and later review with the Premium audio. If you are familiar with the book, you know that each segment begins with a question and is followed by the responses of ten native speakers. The audio tracks are labeled numerically, first with the segment number and then 00 for the question posed in the interview or 01-10 for the ten participants in the project. 01 is Yomna, for example. The order is the same as in the book. So, the first track is named KSAN-01-00-How do you get around?-Lingualism.mp3. Notice that the English translation of the question posed in the segment is in the track name so that you can understand the context of the responses if you shuffle the tracks or otherwise study them out of sequence.
