The  Levantine Arabic Readers series aims to provide learners with much-needed exposure to authentic language. The fifteen books in the series are at a similar level (B1-B2) and can be read in any order. The stories are a fun and flexible tool for building vocabulary, improving language skills, and developing overall fluency.

The main text is presented on even-numbered pages with tashkeel (diacritics) to aid in reading, while parallel English translations on odd-numbered pages are there to help you better understand new words and idioms. A second version of the text is given at the back of the book, without the distraction of tashkeel and translations, for those who are up to the challenge.

I love these books. This story has a heartwarming ending, but, more importantly, reading these books is really improving my colloquial Arabic. These, along with the Arabic Voices, are, as far as I know, the only source of colloquial Levant that isn’t for absolute beginners. I wish these books had been available after I had completed my MSA course many years ago.

I purchased this book as part of the Levantine Arabic Readers bundle. After purchasing previous products from Lingualism, I assumed that the readers would be of top quality. I am pleased to write that the readers have been excellent!

This story was very heartwarming as another reviewer has mentioned and I learned some new words and expressions while working through it with my friend/conversation partner that is a native speaker. I recommend it!
