Which Dialect?
Beiruti Lebanese is the variety of Levantine Arabic featured in Haki Kill Yoom. That said, you should find it easy to communicate with people throughout the Levant region (Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon) using what you learn from this book. There may be subtle differences in pronunciation, vocabulary, or grammar, but these can be easily noted and adapted to match the speech of others in the region as you gain experience.

I'm once again impressed with the team behind Lingualism! Initially, I hesitated to purchase the Lebanese version, fearing repetition with the Egyptian version I already owned. However, I'm thrilled to have taken the plunge. This book has been expertly tailored to Lebanon, offering a unique blend of language learning and cultural insight.
The content is meticulously crafted to prepare travelers for their visit, covering essential topics like transportation, cuisine, and must-see destinations. In essence, it's a comprehensive travel guide infused with language lessons. I'm eager to see if this series will expand to include Russian, as it would be a fantastic addition to my collection, given my interest in learning Russian.
I agree with the comments. However, the weakness of the series (in general) is the English translation: it is not literal enough, so a lot of words are not translated and clarified. The aim of translations-in my opinion - is to help a learner understand the structure of the text by"dissecting" the text - and not necessarily have an polished idiomatic translation. It is the same issue with the dialogues in the Levantine verbs. (NB: I bought the books on Amazon)
These two course books are excellent practice for colloquial Arabic. You will already need to have studied an Arabic dialect as the course doesn't explain colloquial Arabic grammar and verb conjugations. But if you already know the basics of colloquial Arabic grammar, this course gives excellent practice in everyday dialogues. Can't wait to see similar books for other Arabic dialects such as Iraqi or Saudi Arabic.
Great for dipping in and out of when you don't have large amounts of time to set aside, and I learn something valuable with every chapter.
As a beginner, this is an awesome resource for real-life scenarios and conversations. This goes way beyond the dry language books with unrealistic situations and archaic terms. When you do not have the opportunity for immersion like moving to a different country, this book is the next best thing! I appreciate the real life, natural dialogues, easy format, and the extra notes about the culture. I can’t recommend this book enough!
